MY FIRST SUPERBOWL PARTY
I went to my first American Superbowl party today! It was at Randy’s house who I work with at Chick-fil-A. I heard him inviting people from work, but for some reason he forgot to tell me. When I asked him if I could go, he accidentally gave me the wrong address in Koreatown. Luckily, I called the police and was able to track him down. They were all very surprised to see me!
I had a Rocking time. Football is like cricket but without the fun and excitement. The teams run and jump on each other and reminded me of a Bollywood movie I did, “Chak De! India” (I was an extra.)
I asked many questions during the game. Why is the man throwing the ball? What is a touchdown? Why are they always chasing each other? Everyone was irritated with my questions. Randy said that the party was ending early and everybody left. Luckily, I forgot my keys and had to go back - I think everybody forgot their keys because the party had restarted again. They were again very surprised to see me!
Drinking and eating is a big part of Superbowl parties. People brought all sorts of Rocking snacks like beer, chicken wings and chips. I made photocopies and passed out my famous chicken tikka masala recipe. Sorry, you had to be there to get one!
The white jersey team won. Afterwards, Randy was secretly crying on the balcony. He told me that he lost 50K and would have to move in with his parents. He must have felt better because he went to a party downtown to “loot the streets.”
I had the best time and can’t wait for next year. Go Goats! ~BK
